Molecular study on Knockdown resistance among various populations of Anopheles stephensi to DDT and pyrethroid insecticides used in malaria elimination program in Hormozgan Province, Iran


abstract Malaria is one of the most important parasitic diseases, according to the latest reports of the World Health Organization, about 212 million cases and 429,000 deaths were reported annually in 2016. Due to the fact that the mechanisms and molecular bases of resistance are very diverse, these mechanisms must be well defined for each of the toxins in order to implement effective evaluation strategies (Efficient monitoring strategies) can be implemented and finally manage the resistance of carriers to Different types of insecticides are obtained (8)Therefore, the implementation of such studies can provide a deep understanding of the presence or absence of alleles responsible for kdr resistance, as well as their abundance in the population. Finally, by using the results of this research, we will improve the quality of carrier control strategies.
